The author appreciates the comments from the Director of prestigious National Organ and Tissue Transplantation Organization and fully agrees that the transplantation act should be followed. The meaning of resident doctor used in the article is not intended to mean a postgraduate, but the appropriate specialist doctor (resident medical officer) who is available in the hospital and is appointed as per the criteria laid down by the act. The author thanks the reader for pointing out that the word resident may be misunderstood and clarifies that it has not been used for the postgraduate student and should be interpreted as such. Brain death declaration should be done by the committee constituted as per the act.[1]
